Introductory Level Coaching

• This 6-hour Coaching Ireland Certificated course aims to provide the candidate with a wide range of activities to help them introduce the game to beginners.  There is an emphasis on group activities in the form of warm up ideas and fun games. 
• A Certificate of Attendance is awarded and the candidate is allowed to take activities within their own club (if affiliated to BI) and assist a Level 1 (or above) Coach. 
• Candidates need little or no experience to attend the Introductory Course but must be at least 16 years old before starting the course.
• The cost is €55 per participant and includes Badminton Ireland Coaches Manual Pack. Participants are requested to pay for course in full prior to commencement date

Level 1 Coaching Course

• The course takes 4 days to complete and there will be continuous assessment including practical coaching sessions, written assignments and a rules test – participants will receive a Level 1 BI/Coaching Ireland certificate upon successful completion of the course tasks. The majority of the course has a practical base and it is ideal for those dealing with beginners of all ages.
• You must have completed the Introductory Level Coaching Course or the Instructors Course before you can move up to complete the Level 1 Coaching Course, ratified by Coaching Ireland.
• Applicants must have completed Child Protection Basic Awareness Workshop before commencing Level 1 Coaching Course.

Level 1 Refresher Coaching Course

• Targeted at Coaches who have previously completed the Level 1 Coaching Course
• Course is 2 days
• Cost is €75.

Level 2 Coaching Course

• The course takes 6 days to complete and is run over three weekends. There is also an assessment of participants including practical coaching sessions, written assignments and a rules test – participants will receive a Level 2 BI/Coaching Ireland certificate upon successful completion of the course tasks. The majority of the course has a practical base and is targeted at proficient Level 1 Coaches.
• You must have completed the Introductory Level Coaching Course and the Level 1 Coaching Course before you can move up to complete the Level 2 Coaching Course, ratified by Coaching Ireland.
• Applicants must have completed a Child Safeguarding Course  and hold a current First Aid Certificate before a Level 2 Certificate is issued.
