All Badminton Ireland Coaching courses include a module on our Badminton Ireland Code of Conduct & Safeguarding Young People Policy. What is the Code? Badminton Ireland wants to provide the best possible environment for all young people involved in the sport. Young people deserve to be given enjoyable, safe sporting opportunities, free of abuse of any kind. Badminton Ireland and affiliates are fully committed to safeguarding the well being of its participants. Every individual in badminton should at all times, show respect and understanding for participants’ rights, safety and welfare and conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of the organisation and the guidelines contained in the Irish Sports Council's Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s Sport. In order to support its affiliated branches and clubs, Badminton Ireland produced its own Code of Conduct & Safeguarding Young People Policy. The Code clearly lays out the following, which should be followed by all members:

Badminton Ireland highly recommends that all coaches and volunteers working with these demographics attend a course. These courses are run in various counties through the Local Sports Partnership Network. Please check out their contacts and websites for further information: http://www.irishsportscouncil.ie/Participation/Local_Sports_Partnerships/LSP_Contacts/ As legislation differs in Northern Ireland, the Ulster Branch runs many courses throughout the season. Please contact CLOAKING for further information on upcoming courses.
