Irish Senior, Junior and Intermediate Cups 2012

Badminton Ireland were delighted to be able to avail of the Kingfisher Sports Centre in NUIG Galway for this year’s Cup Competitions.

 There were 15 teams in total with teams competing from all 4 Provinces.

In the Senior Cup Alpha, from Lisburn and Mt. Pleasant, Ranelagh, Dublin were opponents with Alpha winning this Cup 4-0

In the Junior Cup again Alpha were victorious over the Mt Pleasant Club  winning 4-0

In the Intermediate Cup, for a 3^rd time Alpha came out winners beating Sligo TC 4-2

All matches were played in a competitive but fair spirit and it was great to see so many teams involved.

Thanks must go to Fintan Keown from NUIG who was so helpful in assisting Badminton Ireland in the organising of the event in NUIG

Also thanks to the Badminton Ireland President, Breda Connolly for travelling to Galway to present the Cups and medals, along with Tom McGrath and Donal Hurley who came to umpire the Senior Cup

Lastly, thanks must go to Aengus Sheerin who oversaw the 2 days with great efficiency.
