Badminton Ireland Strategic Plan 2010-2013

Badminton Ireland has launched its 2010-2013 Strategic Plan. It is now available to download.

This plan reconfirms our committment to growing our sport for all abilities by expanding the potential of the Badminton Community.

Tony Clarke, Chairman of Badminton Ireland, says:

‘Our strategic plan is a living document and by using it as our benchmark we will successfully build and stabilise our organisation over the next four years; but it is the co-operation of all our members that will determine the success of our plan and benefit our sport.’

The Badminton Ireland Strategic Plan seeks to address the issues of the perception of ‘minority sports’ in Ireland, noting that the majority of media attention is given to team sports, or sports which take place out of doors. Over 15,000 people play badminton competitively in Ireland with a further 30,000 being involved in schools and community projects.

As outlined in our Mission Statement, Badminton Ireland is committed to

  • Building sustainable programmes to increase participation at all levels of the sport in Ireland
  • Providing a quality service in a progressive and professional manner
  • Operating in an open, transparent environment through teamwork, collaboration and respect for all
  • Encouraging two way communication throughout the organisation
